Planning Your Ceremony
FIRST CONTACT
When you first contact me, whether by phone, fax or email, we will discuss details for your chosen wedding day, time, date and venue.
Your immediate legal requirement is to complete the Notice of Intended Marriage. You will need to provide all relevant documents such as Birth Certificates, Overseas Passports, and Death or Divorce papers as appropriate.
We will organize a first meeting date, or if that is not possible due to distance, all further communications can be carried out my email and phone/fax.
FIRST MEETING
This can be arranged at a mutually convenient venue, otherwise you will be made welcome and comfortable in my home where we will discuss the following:
The Ceremony Agreement Form will be filled in, which details fees, refund policy and items included in the package, and any travel expenses required, etc. A non-refundable deposit of $200.00 will be required to be paid at this stage.
The Notice of Intended Marriage will be signed after I have sighted and taken details of relevant documents.
Information on Relationship Counselling will be given to you, as required by Law.
Your initial thoughts and wishes for the content of your ceremony will be discussed, and you will be given folders with ceremony choices, poetry and readings to take away with you.
You will be asked to send me your draft ceremony choices before the second meeting, which will be approximately a month prior to the wedding. I will be available to go over these details with you at any time between these dates.
Information regarding the Bridal Party, readers, etc., will be discussed and it is helpful to book a rehearsal at your chosen venue, or at a mutually convenient site.
I provide a top quality Public Address system as part of the package to ensure that everyone is able to hear the ceremony. This may only be required if you are having forty or more guests.
SECOND MEETING
I will have prepared a draft ceremony for you to read and the ceremony format will be confirmed including any changes, names of readers, witnesses, music, etc.
The wedding rehearsal time and venue will be confirmed at that time, and again in the week prior to the wedding.
The balance of fees will be required to be paid at this stage.
I will arrive at least half an hour prior to commencement of the ceremony, and as I am committed to giving each couple my full attention, I always try not to have more than one wedding on any chosen day.
I am always available to discuss any queries or thoughts you might have by phone, fax, or email.
